Sony Xperia XZ Premium: almost 4K, almost premium

8 months after the release of the Xperia XZ, Sony introduces a high-end layer to its mobile catalog, the Xperia XZ Premium. A smartphone that takes over the positioning of the Z5 Premium in 2015, with elaborate additions to the paper, so a 5.5-inch 4K screen that is now compatible with HDR, a larger battery and a finally outdated camera. What still looks good in the higher circles of mobility is ultimately not enough to establish itself as one of the actual tasks.

In the difficult environment of smartphones, Sony is trying to resist the sales erosion and brand image. Fortunately, the latter is still such that it can just lessen the relentless case. Like HTC, Sony is focusing a bit more on the top and the top. The Xperia XZ Premium is the perfect agent that was simply the most technically-advanced product from the last Mobile World Congress.

Its 5 "5.5" HDR Triluminous "4k" IPS LCD, a diagonal of 14 cm for a definition of 3840 x 2160pixels and a density of 801 dots per inch, but also the presence of a mobile chip Empowered Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 (quad cryo synchronized at 2.5 GHz), accompanied by a 4 GB RAM and a storage capacity of 64 GB, this premium has serious arguments. Add a new 19 megapixel main camera called Sony MotionEye. By then, Sony's resolution was up to 23 Mpx in its latest high-end generations. This is not really a step back, as the trend of photographers tends to return to more conventional resolutions to ensure complete capture (low light, responsive, dynamic), rather than too much detail. In the front there is a 13-megapixel sensor, as in the Xperia XZ. In terms of wireless connection, the troops checking is complete: WLAN a / b / g / n / ac, Bluetooth 5 (like the Galaxy S8), NFC, GPS + GLONASS and category support 4G LTE 16 in all the necessary bands in France (included 700 MAH B28).

The device works with a battery of 3250 mAh (2900 mAh against the XZ) and 7.1 Android Nougat with the usual Sony interface for its mobile products covered with the Google operating system. The premium is IP68 certified and therefore waterproof up to 1.5 meters for immersion up to 30 minutes.
